Thanks for the reply...is it worth to drive there in the evening for a sunset session? What about the wind? How many times per week it works there.I bring my 11 and 7 C4 Ozone that should cover most ...right?sorry all the dum questions :-)

Altona will be better but if you don't have time to get there try one of the lakes around ballarat. They can get a decent breeze there, slightly gusty but you might get a good session in. We kite on the lakes up around central Vic and usually kite every week in summer... But not as often as the coast works. A lot of times we get a 6pm till 9pm session and the other one that can work well is a morning with a bigger kite before the day heats up. I often get out on a 10m kite - 83kg but you can need the bigger gear as well... But that is around Bendigo

I'd be looking at Geelong or Torquay. The Geelong-Ballarat road is a straight line to the Geelong bypass, and you won't have to deal with western suburbs after work traffic.

other guys from Ballarat go to point henry (Geelong) for that reason, and it works on a northerly aswell.

Yep, Geelong (Point Henry/Altona - depending on the wind) is probably closest

South Coast (Torquay, Ocean Grove) for surf waves.
