I caught a stray kite a few weeks back on St Kilda. The owner of the orange kite got in a bind in the high winds and pulled the quick release ... despite not appearing to have a leash on it. Managed to catch it just before the wall at the top of st kilda. Could have quite easily gone into the road and thanks to round the bay being on, caused some nasty injury.

Wear a leash, people!

Looking out of a building on Exhabition street on Friday I saw a kite make it's way from floating around the Eureka Tower, over Flinders street to eventually land on top of a building around Russel Street.

Unknown brand or size. All I know it was all black.

So ur saying a kitesurfing type kite flew its self from the nearest beach to the city? Thats a good 3-5 km

yes, kite surfing kite flew from the beach to the CBD. Considering that at that stage the breeze was around 35 knots, it's not hard to believe.

Looks like whoever lost it is not on this website. Not a big deal to me.
