My 8m is 23kn+ only and in Melbourne only gets used in really solid fronts. If it's not a front then usually it'll only get to 18-23kn in which case you need a 12m... although some freaks of nature manage on a 10m.
So unless your really really little Gav (sub 60kg) then your going to want a bigger kite.

depends on your riding skill, i weigh 75kg, and i ride a 9m in 18-23 knots so, come on down & give it a go, you might be suprised in what winds you can use an 8m
