Hi All,

I am currently travelling and am plannin to be based in Melourne from Mid Feb to End of March.

Is it a windy time of the year down there?? Is it possible to kite regularly??

I currently only have an 8m kite - any thoughts on if this wll be enough to kite regularly or should I start looking at investing in a bigger one??

Any thoughts much appreciated

Happy Kiting

My 8m is 23kn+ only and in Melbourne only gets used in really solid fronts.
If it's not a front then usually it'll only get to 18-23kn in which case you need a 12m... although some freaks of nature manage on a 10m.

So unless your really really little Gav (sub 60kg) then your going to want a bigger kite.

depends on your riding skill, i weigh 75kg, and i ride a 9m in 18-23 knots so, come on down & give it a go, you might be suprised in what winds you can use an 8m

Why a 11m when a 13m would be more suitable for melbourne's lack of seabreezes
