Hi guys,
My sister and brother are coming over from the UK in January and are mad kitesurfers. Does anyone know of good spots that they can kitesurf round Lakes Entrance and Paynesville, and any rules or restrictions they should be aware of? They're bringing all their own gear and we've got a boat, so can take them any where on the Lakes. Thanks would appreciate any feedback, Gilly

Gday Tambo Gilly a good spot is in Eagle Point Bay. There are resident tea baggers hooked on kiting. Travel down the Mitchell River Silt jetty to about 200m past the boat ramp, turn right up an unmade access to The School Site. Grass rigging behind scrub, better with a friend to launch. This spot for the summer easterlies. S37d52'58" E 147d41'27"
For wind from the west to the north try View Street at Paynesville, too hard to tell where, look up a directory, sailing on the NW side of Raymond Island.

Another spot for all wind except NE is Tambo Bay S37d51'25" E 147d48'57"

See the people at Esplanade, Paynesville at video shop (& ski school & kiting fanatic)

Hey,

I will be coming out to Oz in Feb, I have friends who run the bakery in Paynesville and thinking of staying with them for 5 weeks.

Will be travelling on my own and wonder if there are any kiters in the area who would like to kite with a pom ??

Look forward to any replies,

Cheers

I will be at Lake Tyers early January. I used to windsurf there a lot. The lake is no good for kiting, not enough room on the front lake and although I’ve tried a few times on the back part of the lake it's not worth the hassle. The surf beach is great when the wind is right, lots of room to rig, and if the wind is South West and you have a willing driver you can do some really nice downwind runs from Lake Tyers Beach to the Red Bluff (Shelly Beach).
