Im moving to melbourne in a couple of months from perth .I am hoping the wind will be like it is around perth but I don't think I will be that lucky.
Can anyone out there recommend any nice areas to live that is not to far from good kiting spots that does'nt cost the earth say $450k to $600 .
I am coming to visit next week and don't know where to start!
Thanks

anywhere from elwood to port melbourne is great and you could find a small single fronted victorian in that price range as long as your not directly on the beach.

if you like the beach, cafe, bars, clubs and hotties then st kilda is the place to be. check it out this sunday for the yearly St Kilda Festival, there will be about 300,000 people there and KBV is holding a demonstration near the main pier too.

umm, yeah, st kilda is great, if you like vapid megalomaniacs with spray-on tans, loud cars and way too much hair product.

seriously though, a few days cruising around the bay and you'll find the hood that suits you.

don't forget the west side (altona), the locals who've survived the recent boom will love you for inflating their property values even further.
