Great spot, OK for West - North - East. No good for anything with southernly in it, which rules out the sea breezes. Wind seems to be cleaner down by rosebud or the no 14 spot and they have more shallow water, but can be crowded at low tide. Beach at high tide is narrow, but there is the setup area at Rosebud to launch in for the more experienced. Beach goers are not at all kite aware, and lots of beginners, so pays to be very careful, still, big enough to find your own space.

Ok cool sounds great! Just hope there's some good wind for the weekend! Why does this rule out the seabreezes? If its blowin a southerly how about on the other side of rye around st Andrews beach? Do people head over to that side and kite?

Thanks heaps

Uhhh, be careful on this side of the peninsula! Big swell, currents and plenty of rocks! It is for exp. kiters only! Be careful and don't go alone at least the first time!!!!

Balnarring, so long as there is not too much westerly. Rig up to well to the left of the beach, and avoid the buoys, sailing boats and beach goers.

Try inside flinders, near the jetty, works well in SW great grassed area to launch from. Will be relatively flat with waves around the headland

Didn't get a good run in down that way. Went and had a look at st Andrews.... Death! Gunnamatta was a no goer.. Went down to flinders got the kites up but was no good... Will have to head down on a northerly! Rye to Tootgarook looks sick!! Dead flat shallow water!

Flinders near the jetty is offshore in a SW....... Better off at the back beach waves at big lefts & Cyril's etc... Flat water close to shore on each side mushroom reef.

Yep still in Flinders.... Head towards the pier just before you go down the hill ( towards pier ) turn right towards West Head ( naval base ) just before the gates to the base you will see a one way road ( next to the golf tee) before the car park. Head down there for about 300m until you see a road leading down to the beach drive down and set up on the beach here. The flat water will be obvious Big lefts if off to your right when looking out to sea and about 500-600 m out. Cyril's is further to the right and closer to the shore if either are working there should be people out and again it will be obvious. Wind wise anything WSW-ESE should work and swell wise anything really.... Flinders is often the best bet when the back beaches ( Rye, Gunamatta, etc...) are closing out.

Both breaks will hold swell 8ft+ Cyril's is a fast right hander big lefts is a mellow (but can be big) left hander with the odd right hander tempting you these are best left alone unless you want to be caught inside. Big lefts is more suited to kiting.
There are heaps of other breaks take a mate and explore but be careful.

Thanks man... Yeah we ended up where the naval base is just took those stairs down to the beach was quite rocky down there but was kinda enough room to get going then the wind died off spewin.... Yeah I think wel try your spot to the right of the naval base
