from the start of summer we have been getting nice S,SW winds and afternoon sea breezes over mordialloc side of the bay and now for like the 4th week in a row we have been getting sh.ity E,SE winds or no wind at all.
whats going on???
does the wind directions/strenghths/seabreezes change with the seasons?
whats autumn like for wind? and then winter again?

Seabreeze is a summer thing - look up how a Seabreeze is generated and you will understand why.
Autumn is traditionally a very stable time of year - the wind in predominantly from the SE and we don't get sea breezes - when it's a strong SWer it's usually from weather systems coming up out of the Southern Ocean, or fronts.
Winter (if you are keen) is restricted to frontal systems most of the time and it can be cold and or gusty.
Spring is more of the same but sea breezes can be happening from late October, early November.

These SE winds have been unusual and not something I have experienced in the last 3 years of kiting, not that I'm complaining as its been great to be able to kite 4 or 5 times a week.
SE are great for the other side of the peninsular.
As others said between now and the end of Apr the patten should start to swing to more Northerlies followed by the frontal SW winds. Over winter it also normally means that with the Northerlies you get a bit warmer temps and some sunshine which helps with the kiting
