Can you kite at St k in a sse? It'd just blow you kind of onshore right? or where else can I go besides Altona?

On another note is anyone else sitting at work watching the wind today and wishing they were out there!

Sort of... but it won't be fun... on an SSE, it's slightly off shore, plus if the wind drops and you get caught out, you'll either get blown to Port Melbourne, Williamstown, or cleaned up by the Spirit of Tassie or the other cruise ship that's in.

Severe withdrawal syndrome, I'll give it a shot at 1pm. Currently S-SW, should change to SE during the afternoon. I am much more worried about the turds floating in the bay after days of rain, I won't venture into the kiddie pool that's for sure. :-)

Gusty as hell in my experience of anything with an 'E' in it. However probably better than withdrawal symptoms...

I was thinking of just staying close ish to shore, so if something did happen it'd just push me down the beach a bit.

Yep, I know that joy of withdraw symptoms ... Just don't let it push you into something you're not comfortable doing. Good luck with it.

I normally never go out in anything with an E in it, hopefully St k is S or SW when Brighton and Hampton are SE.

I was out today. it wasn't bad. Not too gusty and I didn't see any floating turds.

I made the trek from my home near Mentone over to Altona today. Now that was well worth the effort. What a stunning spot!

I don't know what is normal for Altona but the wife reckoned she counted 40 kites in the air and another 40 on the beach. Along with a steady stream of people coming and going.

Is Altona big? I might head there tomorrow, was at St k today started of as a SSW then turned SSE and it was not so much fun.
