Thanks for the heads up. I normally leave mine on the beach but I think I'll lock it in my car in future.

sounds like 3 bags have been stolen in 3 days. Don't leave anything on the beach!

What's the point of taking bags and pumps other than to just piss people off??

there isn't!!! thou i dont understand why people need to leave anything on the beach, it gets in the way when people are trying to setup & gear gets left on beach or pinched. put it in your car & as long as it doesnt get pinched , winning

If you read the post, it was a down and out guy who stole one of the bags so he was probably was hoping for clothes, a wallet, mobile etc.

Read all the posts again and still can't see any reference to anyone down and out... However would make sense.

Damn I was just gonna tram in down to St Kilda this week. I hadn't thought of people pinching gear.... Is it really that bad? Should I be looking for locker or dragging a car buddy down?

Make friends with the crew at The Zu and maybe they will let you leave stuff on the decking just outside the shop where it can be watched??? And maybe they will even invite you to use their compressor????
That is, if the car is too much effort to get back to...

Not that bad.

Normally loads of people on beach which would scare would be culprits away.

Obviously can/will happen.

At least one bag went AWOL today, it was found in Katani park less anything that was valuable in it. I'm hoping we'd all look out for each other. ie if you see someone who doesn't look the part with a kite bag, you'd question them.

Looks like people are seeing kiters as easy targets.

Maybe we need to change that perception by catching a couple of the bastards.

sorry if this is too damn obvious a solution but how about just partially fill your bag with sand, stops it flying away in wind and too heavy for anyone to carry it away?

$60 is steep but I think it's a good idea. Thanks heaps man! Gonna get one! Or I'm even thinking of gettin like a waterproof bum bag or something small that I can wear to chuck a Myki/cash/car keys in for doing down winders and catching the train or cab back.

Does anyone go out with that sort of thing?
