i hate nad love this time of year... dont get your hopes up this weekend.. was going down west coast this weekend but paranoid wind may come in overnight .. i wouldnt be getting on the piss saturday night people.. might be a cold wet early morning kite
I think i will hit waves at Brighton/Hampton (late afternoon 35knt southerly with 1.5 to 2.5 seas) and island on sunday morning for waves with sw wind and 2m swell
I was there from 10:30 am until 6 pm. At 1:30 pm the wind came and the rain. For the next 80 minutes the wind will drop on and off. Then pouring rain and sunshine. I finally got a session at 400 pm at Torquey sail club beach area and it wasn't my best day. A few guys on 10 meter kites. The were over power at 5 pm. I went back on Sunday 12:30 but the wind was gone. I just surf around torquey. cheers
Sunday was awesome at St. Kilda I've never kited 5 hours in one day before. I've got kite string burn on both middle fingers had to wear bandages and gloves to go back out in the afternoon
I was at Brighton Sat and Hampton Sun - Had to go in early on Sunday because my hands and feet were frozen.... buying booties and gloves and maybe a hood!

Markey boy, next tim you want to head for a surf in a SW around OG, head to point Henry that's where most of us hang out. 1st car park on the left as you reach ALCOHA
Had a great kite on Sat at 5pm at mentone, got quickly overpowered on an 11 but on a custom board so ok. Wanted to head to the coast/waves/island but wind looked sketchy on Sun morning so had another play in the waves at Mentone with an old surfboard, started with a 10m, overpowered so switched to a 7m just enough. probably out 2-3 hours in all, plenty warm in a 4/3, booties and hoodie. Could have easily stayed out longer. Looking good for Sat at Rosie. Who says you cant kite in Winter?

Is this the turnoff on the corner you mean? Rather than heading down to the point where I normally go?

Yes take that turn then follow it around to the left. Best kited at a low tide.
