hey pellycan,

I am from shepp (I dont normally admit that, but i'll make an exception this once). I've kited for a few years now and have managed to try a few spots around shepp.

places that work:
-harriman's point (waranga basin), this is great! and works for anything with north in it as the wind has time to develop over the length of the basin, but you'll need an assisted launch/ land as there isnt much shore to work with.
-lake valley drive / anchorage way (lake eildon/ goughs bay), there are some grassy reserves around here which are easy to launch from, this works for anything with south in it as wind has time to develop over the lake.
-lake waranga caravan park (waranga basin) i'm pretty sure it was here i kited once, it may have been the boat club but i doubt it. the wind needed to be in a specific direction, i think south-east and was a bit gusty but still fun.

places that don't work:
-carpark at tatura-rushworth / zegelin rd intersection (waranga basin), the launch area is limited (assisted launch required) and is predominantly rocks.
-lake kialla, too small and wind is gusty due to houses etc
-shepp lake, as above.
-lake nagambie, as above.

I would suggest taking a twelve wherever you go, i do and it works. it would be rare to get wind (inland) so good that you'd need less.

let me know how you go, might have to catch up for a session!
