Yer Launch out in the knee deep water & stay off the beach with your kite - as the road & trees & houses & home owners have had had enough of noob & experienced kiters crashing their dumbarse onto them

Other than that - cool as, rip it up and have a ball

Cheersz

and don't be a ****ing showboat and come right into shore and do your tricks. there are some yellow markers about 50m offshore . try to stay outside those if not launching/landing.

and to the ****wit yesterday with the naish who decided to jump right over the top of me while i was wading out to a mate, i hope you perform your big air right on the beach and a gust of wind takes you onto the road

Ha i saw this guy to, thats why i like this place other than that dude doing jumps in 2ft of water (in front of the hot chick in the bikini) ha there seems to be no posers

Seems to be a next relaxed spot, which is a breath or fresh air

Cheers for the heads up!

Good to know. I've just started kiting and I suspect Melville will be my after work on a weekday spot cause I live and work in Vic Park/Belmont. Just like anything else i guess. It pays to ask.

Other than the buoys, there's a rather important one that has been increasingly ignored or not disseminated to the new flock of learners at Melville this season:

If your learning or teaching, stay downwind of the big white ghost gum. The top quarter of the beach tends to be where the more experienced crew do their boosting and spinny whatever stuff. Learners dragging through the limited flat water just outside the buoys makes it impossible to have a decent session, you still have 3/4 of the entire beach to do as you please.

Having said that, I'm sure everyone is welcome up the top end. Just make sure your not floundering on the inside the entire time, and capable of avoiding someone as they hurtle downwind trying to set their edge and hook back in.

the chick with the dog ?

if so then you were probably watching the same guy who boosted over me . My mate was out about 10 metres with another mate and a trainer kite. within the yellow markers though .
