G'day

Susanne and me at 38 years both from Denmark (Scandinavia!) dreams of kite surfing at the Australian west coast but have a very small budget.

Does anyone have or know someone who would like to rent a used old motor home such as a Toyota Coaster for a three week trip from Perth to Ningaloo from about the middle of February?

Please send an email [email protected] for more info and more.

Thanks in advance
Thomas

Hey Dusta

Well small budget - it's more about what we need and what we are willing to pay.

Rental of a decent new motor home for 3 weeks are over 1000 AUD per week!
As a former backpacker I took the little loop 15000 k´s in a Holden HZ Kingswood, we have absolutely no need for a large new motor home. I think of an old converted Toyota Coaster or similar which probably ought to be a third part of the price, vehicle value is of course correspondingly lower.
It's basically just about getting back to Australia at my first visit I fell completely in love with the country, the nature, the outback the people etc. and I bet we'll find a solution soon.

Hope someone can help.

With a current state of WA economy, this types of vehicles are in demand, hence not cheap...

I would come to one place only on a very small budget. Than, maybe rent a car and go on one day trip, duno, Lancelin? Augusta, Mar. River? Three weeks is to short time for your plan. My friends were very happy with staying in Perth only.

Even for us is a quite expensive now. Cheaper to go Bali than up North:)

Try Cheapy Car Rentals on Great Eastern Highway. They often have vans parked outside which seem to be bargain basement prices. Good Luck with your trip!

hey guys, fab you wanna come north, but just a few things to advise u.
Feb isn't really the best time in Exmouth for kiting, or camping.
Once we begin getting low pressure systems nth, the south west winds disappear and temps begin rising.
Late Jan, Feb & March this year, a Cyclone threatened the Ningaloo coast every week!
We kept our depot pack away for 6 weeks because of the bad weather systems.
It sucked, but thats mother nature!
Also since 2 weeks ago, there is no Wicked Camper depot in Exmouth anymore, even though they are still advertising an Exmouth depot, it is not true.
Price of unleadded fuel here is also nearly the same price as Diesel...so not a real cheap option driving from Perth-Ex-Perth.
May b fly up to Exy, early Jan, hire a Camper Van locally from us and go only 50 kms around the coast into Cape Range National Park for some freedom camping on the beach and kite Sandy Bay. On the windless days you go snorkelling and drink beer on the beach...bliss.
Happy planning....
