Hi everybody!
I am new in Fremantle and I come here with a Working Holiday Visa to improve my english skills and find job! However my main aim is to kite! I bring my kites and harness with me and I plan to buy a second hand board quickly..
Anyway currenlty I am looking for a kitesurfer who will be motivated to show me spots and everything about kite in your area! I saw on windguru that there is wind on saturday so if I can join you to your session it could be great for me :) (better than going alone to the beach..)

Good on you for coming here !! Best to head down the beach and talk to people there. Leightons is pretty good just to the north of freo. I hope you have a good experience here.

Hi - I am a local and kite at coogee beach most of the time, since it is a great spot with good water, easy rig and de-rig etc... If you are interested PM me your details and i'll let u know next time I go out (which is every day its windy).

Plenty of friendly kiters on every kite beach, just introduce yourself and you'll make friends in no time
As for improving your English my best advice is to avoid hanging out only with French people. It sounds obvious but most do only talk to other French people and leave the country with very little improvement in their English.Christian

Hey never done a downwinder before or tode in waves how much experience fo u need to get into it im pretty confident rider been doing it for prob a season now

Hey Rob83,
Take it in baby steps. First ride your twin tip in the waves, without going downwind. Spend a lot of time learning to read the waves.
Then, try doing 'triangles' tack upwind as hard as you can, then ride downwind for a short stretch. Practice keeping the kite in the air and your lines tight. Get really fluent at this. You really want to NEVER drop your kite when doing a downwinder, even if you come tumbling off the board and dumped by waves, you should ALWAYS have your lines tight and continuously fly your kite. For your safety and the safety of others.
Speaking of safety, make sure you stay away from flagged areas and swimmers. Give any swimmer and slower moving craft lots of space. Always give them enough space so as not to cause risk to them in the worst case scenario of you dropping your kite. Google WAKSA and check out their guides for areas to kite.
