I went this morning on my 8m ozone light xc and it just wasn't enough (75kg). I'm no hot shot on the twin tip, but I thought I'd be able to get away with it. Good at times, but under-powered mostly.
I've been out before on my 12m catalyst and was very overpowered in the gusts, although was a tad windier than this morning.
For the off-season what size would you mostly use in these conditions?

I had a sunrise session this morning and I was well powered on the 10m (96kgs, twin tip). I could have been on an 8. Didn't use my 7 as it would have come up short in the lulls. It was picking up when I left at 7 though. Had to go to work.

I was down pt walter this morning about 7 - 9 and was powered on my 9m fuel also about 75kg! loved it - good to get out on the water for a kite

Maybe I was in a wind shadow behind the point at Peli's this morning but it just wasn't happening on the 8m.

If you're kiting Peli Point on an easterly you're at the wrong spot - head over to Point Walter and it'll be out of the wind shadow and less gusty.
Kite size just depends on the wind - i'm (75kg) riding 7m and 10.5m on the river from Point Walter on 18 to 25 knot easterly and havin no issues.
