This is to the 9 kiters I saw fall of amoung the windsurfers in the break at Scarborough IF YOU MORONS CANT STAY ON YOUR BOARDS DONT DOWNWIND THROUGH THE WINDSURFERS ! I can't dumb it down anymore than that. Your a pain in the arse getting in the way and an embarrassment to your sport. Your the ones that'll get your sport banned. Maybe take some lessons or go back to the River, if your no good at kiting and keep falling of maybe give up and find a new activity that requires less coordination eg sunbaking ( I know some funny people here are going to suggest windsurfing). To the locals south of us and the others that go out to sea a bit and around us THANKS for respecting the area we use.

I don't kite down your way but I'm curious at some places how come you see windsurfers luff around inside, it looks like there trying to pump there sail to create aparant wind or something ?. Is this because the wind is shadowed on the inside for them by wave peaks or is it that you haven't perfected your gybing technique. Genuine question I would be nervous luffing around on the inside with all that expensive gear.

Perth metro windsurfers might be able to count but definitely can't gybe......

Never ever seen one completed without falling off and gettn in the way...... then stand around on the inside for an hour having a picnic or mens discussion group ...in the way...such a pain in the ass......

Windsurfers spend more time having picnics than sailing......its totally embarrassing to the sport....seriously need to get some lessons on how to turn around and keep going........

But the most embarrassing thing is when friends n family ask me if I'm going windsurfing this weekend??.... Or did you have a nice time windsurfing today.......????

I believe this flapping commotion you refer to is part of the mating ritual of the dominant windsurfer male. A display of strength and beauty used to intimidate and impress potential mates and warn off young rivals.

To all the angry windsurfers who do speed runs trough busy kitesurfing areas while they not supposed to be there, and start yelling abuse to local riders when they been told they are dangerous to other people who are trying to enjoy themselves. Yelling and screaming on the water or on a forum won't help your case to try and claim YOUR piece of the ocean. By the way props to all the freestyle windsurfers who try and stay upwind And have earned mutual respect. Woodies beach 3 rider bit far from scarbs but still same concept applies

I couldn't care less, but am simply bemused as to why you're attacking windsurfers, we think these guys are douchebags, you guys think they are douchebags, swimmers, lifeguards and every Tom Dick and Harry down the beach think they're douchbags yet you insist on defending them. Don't defend dickheads that can't kite, have zero common sense and have no f**king idea on how they are supposed to function in the ocean with a multitude of other water sports going on. They are making you guys look like dicks, yet you defend them? You should be doing the opposite. Irrespectively, the only places I sail, the kiters seem to know what they're doing so it's kind of immaterial, but like I said, I just find this pathological need to defend anyone that kites a bizarre idiosyncrasy of the kiting world. Can you imagine a surfer with a bad attitude and bad surfing skills acting like that? He'd cope a good flogging from his surfing "brothers". A retard is a retard, he doesn't lose his retardation by simply launching a kite.

Are you referring to Scarbs? I don't sail there really, it's often a PITA, there are better metro places. And yeah like you said, as it's a shorebreak, you have to pump the sail to pick up speed to either jump or get past the wave and if you don't make it and lose your gear your mast can get poleaxed into the sand and snap like a twig, taking the sail with it. Throw into the equation, clueless spanners getting dragged up and down on their brand new kite, it can be a proper cluster f*ck.

Luckily we have photographic evidence of the carnage

Please keep the abuse to a dull roar.

Do we need a group hug at SCARBS on Friday afternoon to smooth things over?
