Hi there.. I have just been introduced to this site from a friend in the USA who has a land yacht.. He has suggested I get involved.. I would love to, I am a double amputee above knee in a wheelchair and I believe this could be a great sport He became involved in his 50's and like me says it's never too old...
Some advice and help please..

G'day Brian, welcome to the forum. I think a blokart would be ideal for you as they are hand steering and hand sheeting. Hopefully one of our local members from up your way will be along soon and might be able to take you out for a test run.

Also you could send Trumpy (Phil Coulter) an email. He's the blokart importer for Australia and would be able to tell you who your local dealer is and if any other amputees are into the sport and if they required any mods to their blokarts.

Hi Brian,
Welcome to the wonderful world of land sailing. It is the best speed buzz you can have without using petrol. Contact the blokart people. They are especially friendly to disabled people and have accessories specifically designed to accommodate your circumstances.
Cheers Cisco.

I am a member of the Brisbane Blokart Club and a while back we were going to organise a day with the sporting wheelies but unfortunately the wind gods didnt work with us and it all fell through.

Hopefully in the near future we will be organising another day though. There is a great site at Mudgerraba so if you want to PM me your details I can let you know when we are heading down that way. There are quite a few people both in Brisbane and Gold Coast that we regularly meet up somewhere and probably due for a Gold Coast trip pretty soon.

Hi Brian

I live on the Gold Coast as well, if your interested in a sail in the blokarts send me an email [email protected] and we can organise a time that suits, Firth Park at Mudgerraba is is generally a good place to start.

Cheers
Phil

Hello Brian, the Brisbane blokart club members were keen to meet you and get you sailing on the Casuarina beach, but it was a shame you couldn't make it. We'll arrange another day out down the coast soon and hope you can come along for some fun and adventure.
In the meantime, be sure to check out our forum site BBKC.org for the latest news and events in Brisbane.

Cheers Brett

Would love to come back down for a visit this weekend but accidently volunteered to work on Saturday and Sunday. I will see what the other members are doing.
