NOTICE: Joint Announcement ... NSW Blokart Club & Hunter Valley Land Sailing Club.

Fellow Blokarters,

It is with very, very, immense regret that this Year's State of Origin will not be held at the Evans Head Aerodrome.

The Local Richmond Valley Council who is the Major Sponsor of the event is having financial/budget cut-backs and has offered only a very minimal amount of funding to stage the event at the aerodrome....which means we would require a very large increase in the Entry fee to make it a viable proposition.

After much deliberation & meetings with HVLS Club and the NSW Blokart Club, we have come to the sad conclusion, that it is financially unsustainable for the NSW Clubs to hold the event this year.

Hopefully in future years sponsorship from Council , or other, will be restored, and the event may carry on.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank those, who in the past years have attended this Very Unique & Great Family Blokart Event, but without a Major sponsor it is too costly to hold the Event.

Thats a real shame. Is there any way that State of Origin could be held on a beach like the second year. That was such a good weekend and maybe wouldnt require the same amount of sponsorship?

Seeing as how the local press over there made such a big deal about it last year, maybe they could do the same this time.
