how does the geomretry/shape of the chassis affect the sailing (does it really matter?)

if it does do you guys have any designs/ ideas that will work well (I want something small)

Over the years MANY things have been tried in the design of land yachts, some good - some bad.
Here is a set of plans that are probably the result of 100+ yachts, the design is simple to build with easy to get materials.
