I have just spent an hour and a quarter screaming around my favourite car park averaging around 45kph. No matter how hard i tried, i could not get my LLM to slide more than a few inches at a time.
Wind speed was averaging 30 gusting to 46 kpm. More than once, as I popped a wheel, I had to change course to gain stability and control. 3 times I took a right hand turn with right hand wheel in the air! [}:)]
Man that surely woke me up as I had spent the previous hour in the local pool and sauna relaxing after a good meal and wine at Landyachts.
This night sailing is a sure fire way of relieving tension and stress[}:)] , before retiring for the night

When I was in Gladstone I had a couple of favourite car parks with larger gravel areas ajoining that I would sail with my blokart. They were reasonably well lit too.

Best fun was using the tarmac to wind up speed and launching onto the gravel areas for some slippy slidey.

Both were in the port precinct so had good wind exposure.

Didn't have an LLF Mini then but it would get pretty scary with the blowie at times.

Doing the same thing with an LLF Mini I am sure would be another rung or two up the ladder of thrill seeking.

Well I can't say as it was night sailing but it was definitely sailing until after Sunset.
Took the Razor out this arvo, it was a bit sketchy but enjoyable until Ptshuuush, whssh, whssh, whssh. So home I go Put a couple replacement tires on mow a couple of lawns and have tea etc. 7.30pm the wind is up again so BUGGER Tele I'm gonna get an hour in on the Strip. Wind was pulling 10 - 15Kts so Mount Up and give 'er the Fat. Yup! I had a lot of fun, left a lot of Rubber on the Strip and May be took home a few Skid Marks (Sorry Skidmark). Topped out at 75Kmph and ran in excess of 45 mostly. Damn! I'm still trying to get my head around the acceleration. It is a pity that the Airport didn't have a few lights up on the Strip.. Mind you the wind dies just before dark.
Ron

PS I'm not sure what is going on but they have removed most of the Gravel off the Strip and left a Rubber Tired Roller there now.

we used to sail on adisused runway in Kal. the gravel got really bad from the bogun cars so one night we snuck out with a roadsweeper and cleaned the whole strip. next morning a Shire grader turned up and put the rippers over the whole thing

Yeah See! That is what I'm talkin' about. Bastards can't stand to see anyone have a bit of good clean fun. You get out there and start enjoying life and there is a bunch of Kill Joy Aussie Knockers prepared to screw it up for everyone. If you get you materials cheap and your Energy for free then the system has to kill it "Cos they don't get to RIP you off.
