For a news story..... it might be 20 seconds TOTAL - 5 seconds interview = 15 seconds of video to air.
A sport show has more time to get the message out, a kids or travel show is even better.
Run a stop watch over a news service and you would be amazed at the actual lengths of the segments, 1/2 hr news will only actually be 24 mins total of material (commercial TV).
Never the less ANY public exposure has to be a plus for the sport.

sorry fellas, the eagles and the dockers had first round wins,so they made the news as well as the "sports' section. we got bumped.
presumably tommorrow night.
we spent the day packing and repacking the tiny crate that it all has to fit in.
thank you so much to Rob Carr who came and did some last minute machining that i didnt have time to do.
thank you george for all the lifting.. in the end we had to leave out 1 26" wheel, and a special trolley that converts to a table and workbench

Glad I dobbed you in mate. Thought the exposure would be of benefit to us all.[}:)]

Had a crack at the beaches in Yeppoon QLD for 18 days kite buggying.
I even did some Kms in a Blokart, I talked a bloke into lending me.
Just so I could say I have sailed on both sides of Aus.
Loved the 219 mtr (measured with the GPS) wide beaches at low tide and fantastic winds the whole time I was there. Only one day we didn't get a kite out as it rained and we missed the tides.

The humidity almost totalled me, the first week though.

The very best of luck overseas Paul.

you dont get off that easy chook , Ive stated building those special wheels so you and john can start designing an extreme speed buggy

Wow!!!!! That would be awesome.

I only managed 71.5 kmh at Yeppoon but did lots of (over 720) kms total.
Qantas folded my GPS in half (and it was wrapped in a towel in my baggage) on the way home, so I've lost most of my logs.

I had registered an 84.3kmh, but it was a phantom/spike reading when we downloaded it in QLD.

Here is a link to what we got up to. I know it doesn't have a mast so bite your tongue Paul!!!!!

It's yours truely at 11 seconds and with the pink kite.

john and I were looking at my new 5 and working out how to put a pulley guide at the mast stepto take your line feed, then basically lie backm in a BIG wind.
I have the wheels and the steel, just need to get together and work out a chassis design . it could be rather simple if it doesnt have to carry a mast
have a think about this one[}:)][}:)]

Not sure what you mean Ron????

All the tires are ribbed. Except for the smooth ones on the trailer with the girls in.
On my Sysmic S2 (I used in Yeppoon) they are "Midi XLS" 180mm wide and 430mm high on Sysmic 4" x 8" wide rims.

Not sure the mast step would work Paul.
It would need to be much further back, as with more power on a yacht there is increasing down pressure.
On a kite buggy, more power is less traction. So the centre off effort becomes really critical. I mucked about for a few hours adjusting the buggy to get all 3 wheels to break loose together. (Seat forward, swan neck out, foot pegs in a good position etc.)
It won't run the same with another person in it. Which is handy as no one steals your buggy when you're not looking as it won't handle well.
Will give it some thought though.
Cheers

exactly chook, you basically need to run the kite from the Cof E. which we could do.
on a bigger base that resists loosing traction by design rather than sheer weight.
we could do that

Putting that footage up on this page, Chook Nah! Just have a dig at you is all[}:)] You know, the way I think I think these days.. I was thinking the std 480 x4 x 8's. Are they also Kenda or just the cheapy Barrow tires.. I love their wheels and I know there is something going with the plastics but I think the Sysmic Rims are nicer and I've had no prob's with popping a bead..
Ron
PS: I think you've learned that Qld is no place for proper Humans, to bleedin' hot and humid.. There are only so many cloths you can remove before the coppers start looking askance at you
