People, why is it that almost all discussions on this forum end in arguments? It really is no wonder the sport is dying when the current participants are in a constant **fight.Beginning to wonder .......Gee whiz, generally discussion amongst us blokarters is positive and involves future trips, growth of the sport etc. not who decided what, why, how and wherefore!!!! very dissapointing.

Land sailers with too many agendas/or in the sport for monetry gain are causing this rift.Yes we must have rules and regulating bodies to oversee our sport usually voted onto a committee by our selves.Lets get together and race and have some fun, thats why i sail blokarts and no i dont have any involvement with Blokart Inc.

Hear hear, I agree. Lets all try and keep this forum about sailing, where to sail, technical tips on how to sail better or build a better yacht. Positive topics like this will help build the sport, constant bickering about rules will only destroy the sport.

Above all, like Laurie's rules, keep it fun.

It seems all the forums I've ever been a part of have ended up failing due to fighting and arguments. Its a real pity though because it always seems to happen when they really start getting a good thing going.

I'll also support the notion that this is for everything nice, keep the negative waves to a minimum. Its not really that hard, we're all (I think) adults

Good to see you blowies have got your fleets ,clubs, and act together. dont suppose you can introduce a class of yachts the same size as blowies , but home built? I could set up some minimalist guidelines, I promise to be polite to every body, share my wealth of technical knowledge, and only build yachts that are a bit faster than a blowie.
In return , you can come and sail on my lake with lots of wind any time you want. its only 25x15 kms so fleet sizes are restricted to 200 yachts per race.

Hi Paul
I have enough trouble getting to NEAR front of the blokart fleet as it is,don,t need to race against any land yacht potentially faster than mine.We only have the one Incorparated Blokart club here in Victoria at the moment but have been encouraging others to follow suit,we were getting up to 20 odd karts for club events/race series untill the demise of a local parking lot gave way to the building boom.
We Melbourne Blokart Club are looking at several potential sites to set up tracked area, not quite as big asyour local place of worship at 25kms long!!!!!!!!

Hi Paul

Lake Lefroy was fantastic. Pacrim 2006. Liked your comment at the presentation regarding the four Blokarts finishing within metres of each other just ahead of you (yes you did 2 laps to our 1) in the marathon of 41km as the crow flies? Maybe 50 to 60 including tacking. Really showed how the one design keeps close competition, the first place wasnt that far ahead either!
