The freeway from Burns beach road to Riverside drive will be closed to traffic on the southbound side from 6am to 1020am,
and from Mandurah to Riverside drive roughly 6am to 1020am (with a few excepted parts)
I cant see any reason why a couple of landyachts couldnt tag along at some stage- and there will be a "tail end charlie" to pick up straggling bikes and thier riders who are deemed not able to finish in time. Any landyachts could organise a ute and trailer to tag along with the tail-ender to retrieve the landyachts.
I might just give them a call and throw them a few questions.!
That is very interesting Stephen, I would love to have a go on the southern section back to Mandurah, where do we make an enquiry? I suppose I need fit brakes to my Mini....wok
I have sent an email to the "Bike Hike" link on the RAC web page. No answer yet.
Wok- It might pay to call the RAC and put the hard word on whoever is organising the day, and possibly thier public relations section.
Also- as the fund raising is for the Asthma Foundation it wouldnt hurt to give them a buzz as well.
I will let you know if I get an answer via email.
As for brakes, well, I suppose something that looks like it will work might be advisable- standard lefroy mini lever- with a hunk of conveyor belt or piece of car tyre on the end? A honka hooter would be a good idea too!
If they wont let you on the freeway, ask if they'll let us on the Perth side of Greenmount for a gravity run. I'm sure you'd have plenty of starters for an event like that. All of LLLSC [}:)]
