some time ago I tried, with a few others to form a land sailing club here in SA that included both land yachts mini's and blokarts under the banner of the Australian Blokart association, a vote of other aba members was taken and and a negative result was tabled resulting in a rethink of what our new club was about, because of this vote we as a club here in SA decided to go with a blokart only club, again a vote was taken by the ABA membership with a positive result and now we have a new blokart club under the banner of the ABA here in SA, I personally would like to thank The president of the ABA and to all other members of the ABA for voting again and voting in our favor We as a club can now move forward in 2014 to build our blokart club into something out standing.

On a personal note and I must stress that this has nothing to do with the aba or the south Australian blokart club, sometime in the future, and I don't know when, sooner rather than later I hope, I intend to start a land sailing club here in South Australia that will cater for all land sailing no matter what sort of vehicle you sail. When will this take place, I don't know, I know there are issues of insurance and permits and so on but these are not mountains that can't be over come in time, and time is something that I have a fair bit of these days, so in the mean time I will devote some of that time to the blokart club but I won't be shut down I my effort to get an alternative land sailing club going here in SA.....
I WOULD STRESS AGAIN that this is a personal project of mine and has nothing to do with the South Australian blokart club in anyway shape or form..

BB I think its a darn shame that it couldnt all be under one roof so to speak
All over the world there are yacht clubs that cater for a miriad of classes from dinghys to maxis
But for some reason it cant be done there
Duplication of resources is just one reason why its a shame
It is not as though landyachting is a major sport indulged in by the masses
The opposite in fact
I applaud your efforts but sometimes you just have to go with the flow unfortunately

Blokarts, blinkers?? Same thing. They think they invented the sport. One design is fine but in any sport the OPEN class is where the spectacular happens.

You will never get them onboard. Mostly a bunch of yuppies from my experience of their scene.

Sounds like a good step in a positive direction. At least you won't get bored in the future...

Looking forward to hearing all about it in a few weeks time!
