hi guys wellif you're looking for places to sail in south australia, i have a few.. try PORTERS LAGOON on the main road from adelaide to broken hill it's on the right before you get to burra, i'd say about 2 1/2 hours from adelaide,, the lagoon has water in it in a really wet winter but drys out in summer, i use to got there a lot when i lived in Clare which is near by.....the lake is agout 2k's long by a k or so wide, and i think that you can still camp near by.....of course i gues everyone know about Goolwa beach,,, not bad going whne the wind is in the right direction...the other area that has a lot of potential is the area around Yorketown on the yorke penninsular, there are almost 200 dry salt flats and pans of various sizes in the area, i have a holiday house at marion bay about an hour from yoketown and will be explroing the area each time we go down to the house....there is a large dry lake at marion bay but is closed to the public due to mining of gypsum,,,,The beach at CORNY POINT at low tide is worth a look if down that way also but it can be a little bumpy in places but goes on for a fair way...There is a the beach at PORT GERMAIN also just the other side of pt pirie on the road north to port Agusta, i haven't sailed on the Pt Gremain beach but have been there many times crabbing at low tide and i know it's very firm and the tide goes out a long way,,, bush camping can be had on the bech in certain places away from the main town beach, and i seem to recall that thgere is a caravan park at pt germain also..........
hope this is of interest to anyone,,, i do a lot of country traveling and not that i've taken up land sailing keep a look out for "sailable" places, so if i come across any others i'll post them here......not real up on computers so not sure how to put in google earth references but with the names of the places it should be easy to find them on there............
cheers
