In the Goldfields we have had some really disgusting weather - lots of rain last night and heaps of wind. So the boys have grabbed their 5's and Vindicator and gone out to catch some good winds.
I am most happy to admit to being a fair weather sailor - it is about 3degrees outside and a bitter wind howling. They were hopefull that the strong winds would blow the water across to the other side of the lake and leave the lake clear and smooth and fast.
Hopefully between Paul, Wayne, Travis and Vic they will remember to get some photos and some GPS speeds!
Myself - I think I am happy to remain in front of the fire and look at the photos tommorow!

That happened to us yesterday, and we went sailing as well

Today we were hoping to catch the tail end of it but it was nowhere to be seen
Who would have thought that the lake could look so different to yesterday?

Sounds like the boys had more wind than was available down here. I hope they took a photo of vindicator at full tilt

WOw, they're brave, I just read the BOM site:

An intense low pressure system is moving across eastern Bight waters.

Damaging northwest to southwest winds, averaging 50-70 km/h with gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are forecast to affect parts of the warning area this evening and overnight. Locations which may be affected include Nullarbor, Ceduna, Elliston, Port Lincoln and Cleve.

Winds at Nullarbor averaged 55-60 km/h with gusts of 90 km/h at times during Saturday afternoon.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
