My next door neighbour in the Creek has two sail boats. One, his keeper, is a 37 ft Cavalier, the other is his original boat
and is a timber 30 ft Griffin and he doesn't know what to do with it. The hull is very sound but it has two decks, one laid atop the
other and the top deck needs stripping off and replacing. The engine is an 18 hp Volvo of unknown useability as it hasn't been
used in ages. He knows money needs to be spent although this may be limited with someone who's handy. What makes
it a bit of a dilemma is the boat has sentimental value to his wife so while he feels he should give the boat away he really
needs to justify a worth to her. On the upside, there may be a mooring involved with the boat if something can be
arranged. I have know idea how to advise him. What do you blokes think ??.

I don't think it's quite as simple as that zil. I've an idea the sentimental part is deep seated and very important. I think
to her it's what the boat represents, not what it's worth. Perhaps I should just let him deal with the situation himself
but....I wish I could ease him along a bit.

That's how I'm feeling Yara but I didn't want to say it to him although I think he can see that too. Might just
have to let him get on with it. It's sat on it's mooring for a long time now and I think the letter from the RMS
has him worried it might be classed as a mooring minder seeing how one of the stipulations is that the
craft on the mooring is supposed to be able to undertake a voyage.

Ask him what the boat and wife are worth as a package deal, fix both problems in one sale.

Made a mistake lyd, its Queensland Beech with a rosewood coach house. It's one of the last timber boats (Griffin Crown) that
the Griffin Bro's made circa 1964. Some attention is being paid to the gunnels as we speak.
