Thought I'd replace my blank avatar with a pic of me - but regardless of what I do, it remains upside down.
Anybody know how to fix?

HI Datawiz,
This is a cheat way of doing it..
If Windows 7 or 8..
Have your photo open and nearly full screen in your viewing software.
Click on the Win menu icon.
In the "search programs or files"dialog box, type snip. Hit enter.
A program called Snipping Tool opens up.
On the popup box, that appears, select "NEW"
The screen will go grey.
Now you will be able to left click and drag the snipping tool image to the size of your photo.
As soon as you have made a selection, Snipping Tool will creat a new image of your selection (photo)
Save this image as a jpeg or ,png, You're all done!

Thanks Shaggy,
Irrespective of whether I uploaded the original pic or an inverted version, both displayed inverted when uploaded - go figure!
After rotating the original 360 degrees (ie back to the original orientation) and uploading it displayed in the correct orientation! - again, go figure!
Still shaking my head...

Yes, it happens to me on any of my Iphone photos, it's rather annoying. Its almost like it can't read the correct orientation from the phone.
And as you said, you rotate it and it stays upside down! Grrr....
