We've got older style small Lewmar hatches that have the handles bonded on the inside of the acrylic. One handle has pulled off.

Any views on what best to stick it back on with? I have read that epoxies (araldite etc) become brittle and break down reasonably quickly under UV.

These are the small hatches on the foredeck and often get sheets caught on them, so the bonding needs to be pretty strong.

The new model handles screw through the acrylic for a secure fit, but new ones cost $53 each.

This pic not my hatch, but shows the problem:

It was the tackline that pulled the handle off (and yes, I know we need some fairleads), but the jib sheets also sometimes catch on the hatches:

Loctite 3092 sounds like it may meet your requirements, not sure about UV stability though

One of the problems with industrial glues and adhesives is that consumers generally don't have access to them.

Of all the glues and adhesives made only a small percentage is available for purchase by consumers in a retail environment, the rest, well you firstly have to know that they exist and then find a way of acquiring them.

Did you get to the bottom of this. My forward hatch also lost the handle when a jib sheet got caught under it.
I used some high strength araldite which seems to of done the job for now but I am expecting it to come loose again.

We had some araldite onboard and just did a temporary fix with that. So far so good, but I don't think it will last. If (when) it breaks again, will probably get new screw through fittings.
