Does anyone know if the oil pressure transmitter for the gauge (not just the alarm) screws into the same port for the oil pressure alarm sender?

Can a DV 24 have both a pressure alarm sender and a pressure gauge sender wired?

Just bought a boat with a DV24 and it has an oil pressure gauge and a oil pressure alarm light. The oil pressure light works, but the gauge just goes to the end of the scale when powered up. It's hard to get to the back of the dash panel to see if the gauge is wired up.

The engine is leaking oil from an unknown location when running (not when idle) and I'm suspecting the oil pressure is too high.

I've also read bukhs have an oil breather under the rocker cover that can get blocked, leading to over-pressure. I haven't been able to find the oil breather in exploded diagrams of the motor. Does anyone know where it is?

my DV24 has one oil pressure transmitter with one oil wire connected to it. From memory,,If this wire is removed from the pressure transmitter the gauge reads hard up scale but I don't think the alarm light comes on. There is a chance I will be on the boat today, I will check and get back to you.

As for the oil breather I have never noticed a breather coming from the rocker cover. If there was a breather there'd be fumes coming into the engine bay, maybe?? I think what is been referred to is the external oil line (about 6 to 8 mm) that runs at the front of the engine, sort of behind the flywheel to the rocker cap. I've read that it can block, although I cant see how.

Glen from Bukh at Taren Point has been very helpful to me in the past, perhaps a phone call or getting down for a service would be of value.

One more thing,,,,,, I once removed/replaced the flywheel, torqued it down as per spec. After restarting the engine it developed a god almighty knocking sound, I thought the bottom end of the engine was gone. Got Glen down, he had a look at the engine running, turns out there is a locating pin on the crankshaft boss that aligns with a locating hole in the flywheel. This pin can kick sideways sort of, especially if the pin or hole is a bit worn. On his advise I removed the pin, chucked it over the side and no more knocking sound. Before removing this pin when I looked at the flywheel spinning there was bugger all wobble in the flywheel. This issue took 1 hour to sort out, it may have taken me ages to sort out by myself, you cant beat someone with good product knowledge. I was happy to pay his bill.

I've given the wrong info too, my apologies.
My oil pressure sender has two wires connected to it, both brown, one thin and one thicker. Remove the thicker and the gauge goes hard up scale, disconnect the thin and nothing happens.
I had a look around the rocker cover and could not see any breather.
