I now have a beautiful Cav 32 in my life. I would like to touch base with other Cav 32 owners and lovers. I have a few questions you may be able to help me with.

My prop looks like it came off a model. 2 blade and I have almost nothing in reverse and she turtles along ahead. I have a Bukh DV20, is there a standard prop.

Are there any plans etc. for a Bimini, dodger, anchor winch out there.

cheers Keith

My Cav 32 also has a dinky 2 blader. Drives the boat fine with the DV20 and reverse is ok but it does walk to starboard a bit when going astern.

This might be stupid suggestion but are you confident the prop is opening properly

Congratulations. I have many fond memories sailing on my dad's Cav 32. Is yours a New Zealand Cav, or is it an Australian built example?

Congrats Cav 32, we have a Cav 28, our first boat, which we are loving. When I had a pre purchase survey we found a bit if play in the two blade folding prop. The teeth and pins where worn. Running a 10hp Bukh she was slow going forward, I could have paddled faster in reverse. I have replaced the 2 blade folding prop with a 3 blade fixed on the sail drive. Much more responsive if you need to go in reverse in a hurry. Fixed not the ideal set up for racing but quite a few less $ than a new folding 2 blade prop.
Cheers

Congrats Cav32 from Cav30.

Gonna get confusing!

We got our Cav30 about six months ago and very much enjoying the boat. Our engine was replaced in 2003 with a 18hp WM.

We have a two blade folding prop but suffering from vibration at the moment. Needs looking at. Dont know if its the prop or cutlass bearing. Had the engine mounts replaced which improved things.Ed.

with all of this Cavalier love around, it looks there might be another Cavalier 32 on the market soon.

My father has reached the conclusion it may be just about time to step back and come sailing more with us on the cat.

So after about 18 years of ownership, it will sad to see the family boat go.

Hi cav 32, I have had my cavalier 32 for nearly two years and there is a specific prop 3 blade for the Cavs.
I have put in a new prop, shaft, gearbox, and stern gland, all to the cavalier specifications.
Cheers Gary
