I am looking for a delivery skipper to bring my new boat from Williamstown to Eden.
They require transport certification to leave Victoria.
Please recommend one if you have had pleasant experience in the past

I've been exempt to travel around the country since this whole thing kicked off, but I think that Vic has now been closed to us - we at least have to quarantine now I'm sure. However truck drivers are still allowed in and out. I think a delivery skipper is going to have a hard time. NSW may be a bit more relaxed than WA with inbound travel.

Being classified as an essential service doesn't mean you don't have to quarantine at times, it just means that your travel will be approved within existing requirements. Some states / territories Allow 48hr transit plans, others not. Hop on the NSW Covid travel web page to get an idea of what's possible but don't presume approval till you have it.

Undoubtedly the delivery skipper will charge the owner for accommodation for the quarantine period.

I don't think now is the right time to be considering buying a boat interstate

i recently got a quote to transport a 29 footer from ade;laide to portland victoria. around $3700 for the truckie plus a crane at adelaide and a crane at portland maybe $800 each...plus someone to drop the mast adelaide and prep yacht ....better to get southace to deliver by sea as his price about the same except if he needs to lay up somewhere due to foul weather. I still cannot press the buy it now button because i cannot travel...bit silly to pay all that money to buy sight unseen. The yacht has now been anti fouled so I cannot tell if there was any significant osmosis. What a quandary for an old fella.
