I use Facebook like a lot of people I guess. One app I get daily is "This day in Music". You get a small snippet of info and this is today's;
28th Dec 1983, Having made two successful dives below a friend's yacht to find items he'd drunkenly thrown off his own boat three years before, Beach Boy Dennis Wilson took one last dive into the Pacific and never returned from the boat moored in Marina Del Rey, California. With the help of President Reagan he was given a burial at sea, normally reserved for Navel personnel. Dennis was the only genuine surfer in The Beach Boys.
Rather sad. I've been doing a lot of diving lately, snorkeling but have dragged out the hookah for a mooring job tomorrow. Certainly notice a difference as I get on a bit and can't imagine diving after drinking. In the story it does not say Dennis had been drinking on this occasion but I think its implied.
