I think stipulating the Master/Engineer participate in diving operations is illegal.

If it is legal I think they should also be paying for a Coxswain on the crew to serve as back up in case of accident or misadventure.

It does say " The Skipper/ Engineer is responsible for day-to-day operation of the vessel and supervising all in-water activities."

Supervising suggests being on deck during diving activities.

I've been on a few (fishing) charters where the skipper was also the dive master. I'm not sure if it is federal or state laws.

I saw this mob mob last year doing a weeks work on Middle Percy. They were doing a great job, but if the skipper is also expected to do the volunteer job as well, it won't be worth the 70k in my opinion (unless it was treated as a semi retirement job in which case is very good money and a noble cause).

There's definitely a growth in these type of companies where they charge tourists to do environmental work. On the same jobs page there's an ad looking for 2 interns to supervise volunteers to work with turtles at Ningaloo for 8 weeks for airfares and food. The 12 volunteers pay $1,300 each for the privilege.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit light on for the job ask.
