TIME TO TEST YOUR SKILLS

I am having an electrical problem with start up on my Volvo Penta MD2030
To start the motor you need to turn on the blower, then the start button. The blower will not start, but if left on will kick into life in 10 minutes or even a few hours time. I have checked all fuses and connections to everything. This morning it started three times in a row and the fourth time it would not start for another hour.
I will contact a Auto Electrician after Easter but thought I may check out the knowledge of the Forum first.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm...? Terminals are fine, that was the first thing checked, I am thinking that it may be a faulty switch and or that corrosion has got into the workings of the switch.

Terminals are a great place to start, but just because they're tight doesn't mean they have a good connection. Further to a good clean, you need to check the solder or crimp where the wire cable goes into the ring or spade terminal. Speaking from experience a dry corroded joint can occur there and because it's under the insulation, you never see it and it looks fine.

No sarcasm Disralei, Glad you fixed the problem but dont rest another problem will rare its ugly head followed by another........... Its a boat!
