Ok ...so the Cheoy Lee Motor sailer I asked about a few nights ago, has rot in the mast bases (as I found out through a survey) and perhaps was the same boat another member looked at a while ago with the same issues. So now after the expensive survey ... Im looking again...
Does anyone know much about Endeavour 40 Yachts. I have found one that looks good and think it may be the next choice . Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A crazy offer may have been enough to pull and repair the masts.

Perhaps... how much do you think to take the masts off and re-rigg the boat???

Another thing....they might let you insure pending mast repairs. There will be a clause forbidding using the sails
...or take the masts off till you can afford repairs?

That, you would need to contact a rigger about, I have no knowledge of what the varying costs around the country are.

I think this should satisfy your curiosity regarding this boat ......

www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f47/endeavour-40-center-cockpit-opinions-48968.html

or this one .....

I guess like all boats it comes down to very careful inspections and what your wants and needs are.

Lenni,
Have a look at the Zeston 40 they are a rock solid boat built by Buzzen and designed by Joe Adams. These boats do sail well in all conditions.

rowellmarine.com.au/view_boat_details.php?boatid=1192

This boat is my fathers old boat which we sold when he passed away. it has everything on it including generator , inverter charger, hydraulic furling, hydraulic sheet winches, good refrigeration, max feathering prop and lots more. I know it has been professionally maintained by the current owner that purchased it for me. I believe it is being sold due to ill health. At this price it is a steel for this particular boat.

Thank-you for all you assistance everyone. Yes there are a few boats to look at... I do like the E40 however have to look closer at it as yet. I loved the cheoy lee workmanship and boat in general ...however cannot risk rotten masts and we have a budget...this would blow it completely. I have appreciated you suggestions and comments.
