MMMMMM
I knew I should have described how it works

The hook is spliced onto a three strand rope of at least 25mm.
The bitter end is attached [however] to your bollard and lead out through your bow arrangment.
Lead it back to the cockpit OUTSIDE of all standing rigging and stanctions etc
Attach the clip to your boat hook, the holding the boat hook in one hand as well as the rope to maintain the hook in an open position..
Manourver your yacht slowly alongside the bouy, port or starboard depending which hand you are

Reach down and hook the bouy/rope/ rope loop etc with the clip so it attaches to the ....
Put the boat hook down, engine in neutral, walk forward and pull the captured rope/bouy to the bow and attach same to your yacht.
This method is a dream if you have 2m sides
