I have a furlex 100s I was hoping to fit on my old boat but it looks like the furlex 100s maximum wire size is 6 mm. My forstay is 8mm. I dismantled the top halyard swivel and wash it out and and clean every ball bearing and repacked it with grease and work s fine no movement and spins easily.
Tonight I dismantled the lower swivel washed it ready for assembly and it has a 5mm ball bearing socket and wedge ( rigging wire).

Looking at the furlex 100s PDF the maximum rigging wire it can take and is sold buy furlex is 6 mm.
So it looks like I clean it up and pack it with grease on put it on E bay.
All my rigging on my main mast is 8 mm and I'm not dropping it down to 6 mm for the furler
I cant see any way around it .

Sorry for your bad luck HG.

Rather than take your chances on EBay, I am potentially in the market for a furler and would be interested in your 100s if you do have to sell it.

Ive offered it to NSW if hes not interested Ill pm you.
As Ive said I dismantled the top swivel and clean every ball bearing and repacked it with grease not to much just the right amount so its in good nick and spins freely and there is no movement . The lower swivel is dismantled at the moment but I will clean it and repack all the 4 bearings and assemble it to tonight .
I will refit the 5 mm wedge and eye to the bottom swivel with a short piece of 5 mm rigging .
There are no foils with this just the top and bottom swivels so its easy sent in the post.
I got a quote off some one in Queensland for the foils the bottom foil is one meter long and was quoted $235 for that section the other sections came in 2 meter lengths and was quoted $ 125 per length

Ill assemble the lower swivel and put some photos up later tonight or tomorrow
The chrome cover is slightly out of shape but I have not tried to reshape it yet

In the above photo is the swage lock and also the lower bearing or half of the lower bearing with the way Furlex made designed and made this makes it hard as if you need other than 5 mm rigging wire( 4 mm or 6 mm are the other options)the bottom half of the swage needs to be changed meaning the ball bearings could easily fall out and its no job for the faint hearted and its tedious to get it right the above bearing has 10 balls and the top one also has 10 balls and then there is the other to main swivel ball bearing which have 27 balls each
if you rigging wire is 5 mm it will be easy but id not you will have to buy the bottom section( swage and eye ) and remove two grub screws and carefully remove the 5 mm bottom bearing and replace it with what you need either 6 mm or 4 mm
