I bought a gme epirb with the 6+6 battery replacement offer, 6 years ago and now the battery is due to be replaced. I've emailed them to find out the process, still waiting for the reply. Has anybody got any clues or should I ditch it and get another ?

I was told politely that as my battery had actually expired, it could not be replaced.
I just went to BCF when they had them on special

Hi, I reciently had mine done, I did deliver it to them and a couple of weeks later it was delivered back to me with new battery installed at no cost. I think from memory that the grace period is a couple of months after due date. Call them and ask the question.

I found the reply email, it was in spam. If the battery is 2 years out of service they will not replace it, other than that send it as dangerous goods ( owners expense)because of the lithium battery and all will be good. This is for the 6+6 offer they had, otherwise it looks like $199 for a refurbished job.
or as Lydia said get a new one, but be sure to decommission the old one, or you may trigger a SAR at the local land fill
