Form-it Fibreglass Manufacturing in Wyong built these around that time under the false name of a Top Hat 30' and 31' both out of the same mould!

Not to say that you have one of those. I think the 31' was configured as a central cockpit.

Needless to say we Top Hat'ers do not consider them to be Top Hat Yachts!

Found my notes:

Around the same time Form-it obtained the mould for the 30'6" Halverson Yacht and started to produce them in two advertised lengths, but they were actually the same length out of the same mould. They are the so-called centre cockpit Top Hat 31 and the aft cockpit Top Hat 32. Both of these yachts were never popular. Sold with the Top Hat name attached they were never Top Hats and are not recognized as Top Hat Yachts.Form-it Fibreglass Manufacturing is still in existence today but no longer builds yachts.

My fathers Cavalier 32 will be coming onto the market soon Selkie if that suits you.
The boat is in Vic though.

Tracey if you are still looking at the same future ambition you had would definitely recommend that you look for a Mottel. They do suffer with osmosis but no boat ever sank from osmosis.
Lots of room and very liveable.

As mentioned in other replies they make two versions. You probably know there is a centre cockpit version for sale through boathub at Mooloolaba called "Tardis"( must be a Dr Who fan) For some reason my cut and paste won't work on here so I could not past the web address.
I have personally inspected this one with a friend who was going to "live a board " a few years ago and apart from some exterior wear and tear the interior has been very well maintained. It has been off and on for sale for approx 2 to 3 years. Not the prettiest lines on the water nor dare I say the fastest but it would make more of a motor cruiser/ live aboard if that is what your after. Looks to be a very solid boat but off course only a professional inspection can confirm that.
