while running my 2kva with heater and the footy going the thought came to me can I run the exhaust from the Honda down over the transom and possibly into the water? It would be whisper quiet then?

turn it off and read a book
just don't put your hand on the extra exhaust pipe or plug a small water pump off your 12 volt supply on the Genny and run sea water through it add a non return valve to the water inlet

I have try it with 0.85kW two stroke, when outlet was near the water surface there was diferent sound but not mufeled (Same noise level).Outlet below 30cm was mufeled but engine died. Before I did managed to find equlibrium betwen noise and continous engine run hose perforated and it was the end of experiment. To eliminate vibration (which caried trough all the boat when on deck) I was hanging it from the boom.

The increase in exhaust back pressure would ruin the engines critical airflow through the combustion chamber. Every fourth stroke the piston would labour through the task of ejecting combustion gases against the water pressure. It would make the engine noisier too I am sure.

Dam !

Well it worked resonably well with a blanket over my companionway hatches to deaden the noise had the heater running and the whole ship fired up on 240volt till about 1am when it must of ran out of fuel and I woke up to a 13 degree cabin!

Back to the marina I go!

If you owned a Taylor 030 stove /Oven you would not need a heater, just open the oven door South Ace. Some people do that in England Id be worried about the fumes.
Or better still get her over here

Who is in love with this girl??

Southace seems to be over her but not HG given the number of times he has posted the pic.

It is a great pic with the gorgeous girl gazing wistfully from the mountain peak over the coral encrusted tropical islands and her escape route just below her being the jet air strip.

You have asked for this one HG.

That explains why the sun is absolutely vertical overhead in the shot.
