I have a jabsco pump online to pump water from the fresh water tank to the shower and basin .
The water level in the tank got low and it started to splutter ok so bought out about 60 litres and put it in the fresh water tank.
Now all i get is the pump running all the time and sounds like it is sucking air no water coming out.
Also the foot pump in the galley is not picking up any water when depressed any ideas would be appreciated.

Take the inlet pipe off the pump and blow back into the tank. It sounds like you got a blockage.

if you have a small funnel pour some water back to the tank and quickly put your finger over it lower if below the tank it might make a siphon for you to get you up and running
It probably full of old Boag's beer cans and its blocking the out let
you dont need fridges down there in the winter months
I always wanted to put 44 gallon drums around Tassy and move it up the east coast a bit so it had a warmer winter

Mine does the same when I run out of water. Seems to be a airlock. The only way I seem to be able to clear it is to try and suck on the tap until I get water and no air. You also might find it will pump hot water no problem. Switching from hot to cold a few times also seems to help.

They state that the pump is self priming. I have fitted about 4 new ones and still to this day have not seen it self prime.
I fitted a new one last year and was replaced under warranty after a fault .
Basicly if it's not gravity fed water they seem hard to self prime or bleed air.

Thanks for the ideas guys
the pump is lower than the tank and it won't pump hot or cold water and nothing at foot pump just a lot of air noise

if you have an air compressor on board blow the delivery line so you know its clear then pressurize the tank see it it will bring water out of the tank
that would be one one one choice
Other wise buy a siphon hose from super cheap auto or some where like that and have a go that way
