The Mandurah Easter Regatta 2012. Entries close for the early bird registration prize this Friday 24th April at 1700 hrs.

Ask any Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club (MOFSC) competitive sailor about our Comet Bay, in which we recently hosted the Fireball World Titles and in which we are again hosting the Easter Regatta, and you will hear tales of thrills and spills and exciting finishes. It's a great sailing ground with strong and tricky Easterlies by morning and consistent sea breezes picking up that renowned wave around Point Robert. It's as 'open water' as it gets on our coast for dinghys.

With four courses including the 505 Nationals, this will be an exciting vista and an thrilling regatta to compete in. More than that, we repeatedly hear stories of encounters with top sailors and what was learned. The MOFSC Easter Regatta is the only Yachting Western Australia sanctioned coaching regatta. A coaching regatta allows for direct intervention by coaches, who have their own RIBs, with the competing fleet without penalty.

This year we have a sensation to offer: three world level coaches, Tessa Parkinson, Gabrielle King and Ben Austin have accepted to work with AIS and Club coaches to contribute to sailors on the water. WAIS Coach David Mann, Australian Youth coach 2011 and 12 for the 29er fleet rounds off a great 'top four' for this regatta. All sailors will get a chance to hear Tessa , Ben, Gabrielle and David at the Forum on Sunday 8th April at 1700hrs. These are generous, approachable people who happily offer their Easter Holiday for the betterment of sailing and sailors.

Do not hesitate to register for this regatta. This will be your chance to experience sensational sailing conditions, a renowned friendly host club and to chat to and learn from people who have done what we'd all love to do: be world class sailors. The Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club Easter Regatta is the only Western Australian leg of the Australian Youth Grand Prix 2012 in where sailors can earn points toward being crowned the best sailor in their respective class in the country. Coaching starts 1200 Good Friday.
