Hi all, I left me Samsung tablet in for repair while they had it they upgraded the software which did a factory reset of the device, not a problem really as I can down load all my apps again, but I now find that Navionics no longer have an app for aus&nz waters.

Just wondering if this is a temporary glitch or will I have to buy new maps or go with iSalior.

I do have Navionics on another $100 Android device but it's nice having it on the bigger screen.

Yes, to be precise, the steps are:

- Go to play.google.com/store
- Select Apps
- Select My Apps
- Select the Navionics ANZ app
- Click on Installed
- Select which device you want it re-installed to

If you've paid for it once, you won't have to pay for it again.

Thanks guys,

when I went into Play Store last night Navionics only had Asia, UK ans US on display, I rang my son and he also checked and came up the same results as me, but checking a short time ago all are back up again, I have down loaded the app again and find they have done a lot of upgrades and new features, probably why the it was off line in the first place.

One happy little sailor!

Sorry about that, I was pretty vague there. Hope it all works out ok.
I'm glad they updated it yesterday. Mine was playing up. The maps would not pop upon zooming and the little red arrow was not happy. All good after update but. Jeez I wish I could export tracks between devices but, not just to Google earth. There's gotta be a way you can cut and paste a folder to make this work?

There has been a lot of drama on the pommy forums for the past few weeks with Navionics. Apparently its a major update coming. Great idea just dropping the availability with out telling anyone. I guess it's just Australia Pacific's turn.

Hi,

I use Navonics on an Apple Ipad and up until recently have been able to link waypoints, routes etc to a Raymarine plotter by wireless link. This was great, you could prepare the route at home then down load to the boat system, Navonics was also a lot easier to use than the Raymarine systems.

After a recent software update the transfer stopped working and it tells me I need to update the plotter charts to the highest level. The lesson is that if you have these things working to your satisfaction be very wary of the updates that come through. Have a look at what is changing and only accept if there is some likely benefit.

So so true. I have ruined perfectly working software that was suiting my needs by the lure of updates.

Ahah!! So the initial cheap download is just bait to get you hooked so you will spend more money to get the latest you beaut.

Quite a cunning business plan.

Not sure what's happenc on Tablets but
last gigantic Apple system upgrade on iPdas (over 1Gb)
stuf up more less every App including system functions.
It is very serious.
Some Apps closing half way ( paied Apps )
external HD TV card is not recognised
conctantly "SIM " not installed appears and blocks screen
copy / paste function on most programs not working any more
List goes on.
After 2 years perfect, now so many troubles

Do a search on PBO forums and there are dozens of pages on this very problem starting in early 2012.

One more on positive notes.
I paid for these expensive Apps
TOMTOM and
Hema 4 WD maps
guess what, both upgraded straight away.
None of them experience any problems.
I would expect Navionics does the same.
