Telling just the facts, including the rigging company's name is not "naming and shaming", It's simply telling the truth.

I specifically excluded that sort of stuff I can do myself so I wouldn't get charged for it. Despite this, when the stick went back in, the rigger double checked that I didn't want him to set up the sails, reefing etc. There was a protective chock missing between the mast and the roof where the mast went in and he came back, de tensioned the rig and added the chock in. I am sure if there was chipped paint, he would have fixed that too.

As a rigger....

We send a detailed pdf about what the owner can do before and after the work. Remove sails and boom, electrics and halyards.
If the owner asks me to do this it will be in the quote (extra labour).

Scratches on the rig are hard to avoid from stays but on a freshly painted mast I put bags around the turnbuckles.

Lazy Jack's should of been discussed before cutting.
Out of interest was the mouse run in place of a halyard or just run in a general spot?

Unfortunately rigging is not like an IKEA flatpack, unforeseen things happen but communication is the key.

I just had to do the lot on a boat just purchased, move boat, take sails off, disconnect electrical and put all back together.
I labeled all electrics, tested when the lights when the mast was out and it all worked. But whe I put it back together exactly the same way it came apart, masthead light wouldn't work.
There was an issue with the boats wiring and a sparky was needed to fix.
Owner wanted me to pay for the sparky ??
So it's easy to make things complex!!
