Hi,

I have a 600psi RYOBI Pressure Washer and am planning on cleaning the fiberglas deck on my Yamaha MS-24. I always used Starbrite, a medium to soft brush and a sponge before and waxed it afterwards.

But some areas on the deck have collected quite a bit of dirt, especially in the grooves of the non-skid (textured surface not sand) surface and I would like to try the pressure washer (600psi is on the lower end of a pressure cleaner).

Any thoughts on using a pressure cleaner on a fiberglas deck?

cheers,

The guys at the yard did it to my yacht just after purchasing it, because I asked them to. There was no damage to the f/glass, and it got rid of a lot of grime.
I plan to do it with a household pressure washer next antifoul time. It's easier than hand scrubbing and chemicals.

I use a smaller karcher on my fibreglass TS without issue. Just be careful around any cracks..esp if you have cored desks.
I have been researching the 600psi ryobi for my keeler on a mooring and ask:
Is yours 18v or 36v?
How long does the battery last?
Does it remove bird sh$t?
Is it a good jigger overall?
(My birthday is coming up so dropping hints)

Slop on Metal gleam and scrub with a nylon bristle brush. Wait a few minutes and then pressure wash.

Have the Fatmax 18v unit - good to 24bar/350psi - debatable as to effectiveness, but will not do any damage, and part of array of 18v Fatmax tools .
Would work well rinsing off Metal gleam.

hi there i bought one of those 18 volt washers, wasnt any good on bird **** , had to use a scraper as well.
so i went and bought a petrol powered 3500 psi, no problem now, i hook up my deck wash pump to it and use salt water, then flush it out when i get home

Hey guys, did anyone get feedback on that ryobi 600psi pressure washer? I'm looking to remove old paving paint from my deck (compliments of the PO) and was wondering how effective the ryobi would or if this could cause damage to the gelcoat and non skid underneath. Also wondering what product to recoat on the deck, any ideas welcome!
