Did the transit some years ago East to West. At Colon the canal offices were readily available, English used of course, easy DIY. Challenges- had to await a " Convoy of yachts " to transit together. Needed long handling ropes plus " rope handlers ". At the time , we were rafted up thro' the locks so didn't need the required no. of handlers. Just 4 per raft of 3/4 boats. Skipper and crew plus older children were counted as handlers.

Did the canal Colon-Panama City August 2012. Used Roy Bravo as agent. Worth every cent of his fee. hired one line handler, lines and tyres from Roy. The line handler was also value for money, he and Roy delivered the gear to the boat and at the end the line handler just took all the gear away with him. Google Roy Bravo for contact details
