This is for the technically obsessed.
I made up some limiting switches for Raymarine tillerpilots and a few guys contacted me for drawings.
I made this vid to give an idea of what goes into making the switches.

Hi Jules.
No video of operation , because there is no noticeable difference from without the switches.
Under normal operation the tillerpilot will be in centre stroke and move in and out 5 to 10 cm.
However, for a tillerpilot without a limit switch, when autotacking, packing up the tillerpilot for the day or when it is knocked of the tillerpin it will continue at full torque until it hits either the inward gearbox or the outward seal.
This is what kills them. Killed my first unit at both ends.
With the switches, the ST 1000 will lose 5 mm of stroke on the inward stroke and about 8 mm on the outward.
The ST 2000 will lose 10 mm of stroke on the inward stroke and about 13 mm on the outward.

Thanks Gary.
In hindsight my request was very unclear.
I must have skimmed the video or been half asleep initially as I can now clearly see how and where it fits into the housing at about 8 minutes which is what I was after.
Good post. Thank you.

Thanks to Gary, I have one installed in my ST2000.
Works very well, but now he mentions it, I have noticed the diminished stroke.
Also, despite working as carefully as possible, I upset the lcd number display. Other characters OK, so not critical.
