Hi Guys

I'm moving to Karratha in the North of WA, there is some good sailing to be had out and around the islands but a lot of it would be sailing up on to sandy beaches. I am looking around for a sail boat that can be trailered (so i can park in safely during cyclones etc).

Can anyone recommend a large trailer sailer brand/design that would suit regular beaching.

Catamaran with an outboard. There was someone selling a windrush 600 last year up there while I was there. Not sure if it sold but I was so tempted.

If it's you're first time then Dampier archipelago is awesome as long as the winds blow from the west. If from the east the iron dust cloud from the Port is,... well you'll see. They've got the local yacht club. Might be worth checking there to see if any boats are for sale.

Very good fishing as well.

Heaps of islands out from Point Sampson too. There's a yacht club out the back of Cape Lambert too that had a decent cat and a trailer sailer. Both looked like they needed a bit of work. Red dust makes things look pretty dull fast. Pretty sure they close up for summer. I think the cat was a Seawind 24 or similar from memory.

The only Seawind 24 not set up for racing on yachthub Icould find: http://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-catamarans/seawind-24/173120 nice looking boat.
